PLDT Speed Test (Philippines)
This page helps PLDT Home Fibr subscribers in the Philippines verify their internet speed. Ensure you are getting the "Unli" plan speeds you pay for (e.g., Plan 1699 for 200 Mbps).
PLDT is the largest telecom in the Philippines, providing widespread Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) coverage. While download speeds are generally reliable, latency issues during peak hours are common.
Understanding Your PLDT Speed Test
A PLDT speed test measures three critical metrics:
Download Speed: How fast files load. PLDT plans range from 50 Mbps up to 1000 Mbps (Gigabit). Speeds below 80% of your plan often indicate a line issue.
Upload Speed: Essential for Working From Home (Zoom/Teams). Most modern Home Fibr plans offer symmetric speeds (Upload = Download).
Ping (Latency): The delay to the server. Good ping to PLDT Manila servers is 3–15ms. High ping (>50ms) causes lag in Mobile Legends or Valorant.
For accurate results, do not test over Wi-Fi. Connect your laptop to the modem via LAN Cable.
PLDT Home Fibr: Expected Performance
Network Details
Technology: FTTH (Fiber to the Home).
Common Modems: Huawei HG8145V5, FiberHome AN5506, PROLiNK.
Peak Hours: 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM. Expect slight congestion.
Real-World Speed Guide
Plan 1699 (200 Mbps): Expect ~190-210 Mbps wired.
Plan 2699 (600 Mbps): Expect ~580-620 Mbps wired.
Wi-Fi Performance: 5GHz Wi-Fi is required for any speed over 50 Mbps.
Important: On many older PLDT modems (black or white FiberHome units), only LAN Port 1 is Gigabit. LAN Ports 2, 3, and 4 are often capped at 100 Mbps.
Common Issues & Fixes
Red LOS Light: This is a "Loss of Signal". It means the fiber cable outside your house is broken or disconnected. You must call 171.
Slow Wi-Fi: Philippine households often have thick concrete walls. The 5GHz signal cannot penetrate these well. Maintain line-of-sight to the modem.
Bufferbloat: If gaming lags when someone watches Netflix, your bandwidth is saturated.

Modem Light Indicators
PON (Green/Stable): Internet Connection OK.
PON (Flashing): Trying to connect.
LOS (Flashing Red): NO Internet. Fiber Cut. Report to PLDT immediately.
When to Contact Support (171)
Dial 171 (PLDT Hotline) if:
The LOS light is blinking red.
You have no internet for more than 24 hours.
Your speed is consistently below 30% of your plan.
FAQs
How to speed up PLDT internet? Use a LAN cable (Cat6) for your PC. For Wi-Fi, ensure you are connected to the network name ending in "5G".
Is PLDT faster than Globe? Generally, PLDT has wider Fiber coverage and lower latency for gaming, while Globe is often preferred for mobile data.
