Converge Speed Test (Philippines)
This page helps subscribers of Converge ICT (FiberX) verify their pure fiber internet speeds. Unlike other ISPs that use copper-fiber hybrids, Converge uses an end-to-end fiber network, which typically offers lower latency and consistent speeds.
Known for its aggressive pricing (e.g., FiberX 1500 for ~200 Mbps), Converge has rapidly grown across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Understanding the Converge Speed Test
When you run the test, check the following:
Download Speed: The most crucial metric. A FiberX 1500 plan (200 Mbps) should consistently show 180-210 Mbps on a wired connection.
Upload Speed: Converge plans are usually symmetric. If you have 200 Mbps download, you should also have 200 Mbps upload (great for streaming/uploading content).
Ping/Latency: Should be very low (2-10ms) to local servers like PLDT or Globe peering. International ping to Singapore/HK is typically 30-50ms.
Note on "Time of Day" Boosts: Converge sometimes offers temporary speed boosts (e.g., +100 Mbps) during certain hours or promo periods, so don't be surprised if your speed exceeds your plan.
Converge FiberX: Performance Guide
Equipment Details
Technology: GPON / XG-PON (Pure FTTH).
Common Modems: ZTE F670L (White, dual-band), Huawei HG8145V5, Skyworth.
Wi-Fi Bands: Always use the 5GHz band. The 2.4GHz band on the stock ZTE modem is notoriously slow (often capped at ~50 Mbps).
Troubleshooting Slow Speeds
The "2.4GHz Trap": If you are testing on a phone connected to the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, you will never see speeds above 50-80 Mbps. Switch to the 5GHz network.
LAN Cables: Ensure your yellow ethernet cable is Cat5e or Cat6. Old Cat5 cables are limited to 100 Mbps.
Converge Router Login (192.168.1.1)
Access your modem to change your Wi-Fi password or hide your SSID for security.

Modem Light Indicators
Power: Solid Green = Power OK.
PON: Solid Green = Connected to Fiber Optic Network.
LOS: Blinking Red = Fiber Cut (No Internet). Requires Technician.
LAN 1-4: Blinking Green = Data transferring.
When to Contact Converge Support (Click to Call)
Contact Converge via their Click-to-Call page or social media if:
The LOS light is blinking red.
You have been disconnected for more than 4 hours without an outage advisory.
Your speed is consistently below 30% of your plan on a wired connection.
FAQs
How do I fix the red LOS light on Converge? You cannot fix a red LOS light yourself. It usually means the fiber line from the pole to your house has been snapped or the connector is loose. Check if the cable is plugged in tight; if yes, report it instantly.
Why is my internet slow at night? While Converge is pure fiber, neighborhood congestion can still occur if the OLT (Optical Line Terminal) serving your area is overloaded. This is more common in dense urban areas.
