Why is my Hyperoptic Internet light Red?

A Red Internet/WAN light on your Hyperhub (ZTE or Nokia) means the router cannot get an IP address from Hyperoptic. This often happens during a service outage or billing suspension. If the WAN light is OFF completely, checking the Ethernet cable connecting the router to the wall socket (Hyperoptic Socket/ONT).

How do I login to my Hyperhub router?

Why am I not getting 1Gbps on WiFi?

1Gbps (1,000 Mbps) is extremely hard to achieve over WiFi 5. Even with WiFi 6, real-world speeds are usually 600-800 Mbps near the router. To see the full 1Gbps speed, you MUST plug your computer into the Hyperhub using a Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable.

Does Hyperoptic use CGNAT?

Yes, Hyperoptic primarily uses Carrier Grade NAT (CGNAT) for IPv4 addresses to conserve IP supply. This can affect port forwarding for gaming consoles or hosting servers. You can request a 'Static IP' add-on for £5/month to bypass this.
