GTPL Speed Test

This page helps GTPL Hathway customers across India (Gujarat, West Bengal, Maharashtra, etc.) check their internet speed. GTPL utilizes GPON (Fiber-to-the-Home) technology to deliver high-speed internet, typically providing symmetrical speeds.

Whether you are on a 50 Mbps, 100 Mbps, or higher plan, this test will verify if your Genexis or Nokia router is delivering the promised bandwidth.

How to interpret your GTPL speed result

GTPL Fiber connections are typically symmetrical (same upload and download):

Download Speed: Should be close to your plan speed (e.g., 90-95 Mbps on a 100 Mbps plan). Speeds may drop during peak hours (8 PM - 11 PM) if local bandwidth is congested.

Upload Speed: Essential for Working from Home. On GTPL Fiber, upload speed should match download speed. If upload is significantly lower, you might be on an older DOCSIS (cable) connection or have a router issue.

Ping (Latency): Expect 10ms - 30ms to local servers. Spikes above 80ms can indicate fiber line noise or "Bufferbloat" in cheaper routers.

GTPL Broadband: Expected Performance

Connection characteristics

Technology: GPON (Fiber) / Ethernet (Cat5/6) / DOCSIS (Legacy).

Routers: Genexis (Platinum/Earth), Nokia, Netlink, Syrotech.

App: "My GTPL" for plan renewal and MAC reset.

Typical real-world performance

Wired (Ethernet): 95-100% of plan speed (Stable).

Wi-Fi (5 GHz): Expect 200-400 Mbps near the router.

Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz): Generally capped at 40-50 Mbps.

Common Causes of Slow GTPL Internet

If your internet is slow or not working, check these common issues:

Red LOS Light: "Loss of Signal". The thin fiber cable entering your home is likely broken or bent. This requires a technician splice.

MAC Binding: GTPL binds access to your router's MAC address. If you swapped your router, you will have no internet until you click "Reset MAC" in the My GTPL app.

FUP Limit: If you crossed your 3300GB monthly data limit, your speed will be throttled to 2 Mbps until the next billing cycle.

GTPL Router Login – Default IP, Username & Password

To change your Wi-Fi password or check optical signal strength (ideally -18 to -25 dBm), access the admin panel.

GTPL Router Login Details Information
Router Login IP Address 192.168.1.1
Default Username admin
Default Password admin / Web@0063 / user / MAC Address
Self Care App My GTPL

Steps to Login

  1. Ensure you are connected to GTPL Wi-Fi
  2. Open your web browser (Chrome/Edge/Safari)
  3. Type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar
  4. Enter username: admin
  5. Enter password: Try Web@0063 or check the router back sticker

Troubleshooting Gateway Lights

Solid Green (PON): Optical signal is good. Internet should work.

Blinking Red (LOS): Fiber cut or no signal. Contact support.

Blinking Green (PON): Internet is trying to sync but failing.

Off (Power): Check your power adapter or UPS.

Wired vs Wi-Fi Testing

To verify if GTPL is delivering the speed you pay for:

Connect a laptop directly to the ONU/Router using a CAT6 Ethernet cable. If this wired test shows full speed (e.g., 100 Mbps) but Wi-Fi is slow, the issue is your router's wireless capability, not the GTPL line.

When to contact GTPL Support

Contact GTPL support at 1800-419-0419 if:

Your LOS light is Red (Fiber Break).

You need to reset your MAC address binding and the app isn't working.

Your "Rx Optical Power" in the router settings is worse than -28 dBm (Signal too weak).

GTPL Speed Test FAQs

What does the Red LOS light mean on my GTPL router? A red 'LOS' light indicates a broken fiber connection. You cannot fix this yourself; a technician must re-splice the fiber cable.

Why is my GTPL internet not working after changing my router? GTPL uses MAC binding security. You must use the 'My GTPL' app to 'Reset MAC' or call customer care to register your new router's MAC address.

How do I log into my GTPL Genexis router? Try 192.168.1.1 in your browser. Use 'admin' as the username and 'Web@0063' or 'admin' as the password.

Is GTPL unlimited? Most plans are marketed as unlimited but have a commercial use policy (FUP) cap, usually around 3300GB (3.3TB) per month.
